Family History
Built in 1902, this was first the home of Dr. N.W. Phillips and his wife Amy. Dr. Phillips was the mayor of Hanlontown from 1904-1908. Sometime before 1929 the home was sold to John Wesley Masoner (1856-1937) and his wife Emma Grace Miller Masoner (1860-1939). John was Town Marshall and Emma Town Postmistress. Around 2011, the last postmaster of Hanlontown retired. Work load was low, so the post office was closed.
