c.1900 West Virginia Farmhouse For Sale By Owner on 1.75 Acres $199,900
OHU50K Notes $199,900
Thanks to Sandy for sharing this West Virginia farmhouse for sale by owner. The three bedroom, three bath bungalow needs some work, but it is on a lovely 1.75 acre lot. A well-manicured yard with a detached garage and a welcoming front porch are the first things our eyes are drawn to. Inside, we find unpainted woodwork, a fireplace with flanking glass-front bookcases, hardwood floors, and even glass doorknobs. An eat-in kitchen, back porch, central air and heat, full-house generator, and basement are additional details.

Location of This West Virginia Farmhouse For Sale By Owner
Hundred, West Virginia, gets its name from the fact that the town was originally divided into 100 lots when it was first established.
The town was founded in the early 1800s and the original plat of the town laid it out in a grid system with 100 numbered lots. This practice of dividing new towns into 100 lots was common in the colonial and early American eras, hence the town becoming known as “Hundred.”
The name has stuck over the years, even as the town has grown beyond its original 100 lots. But the “Hundred” name remains as a nod to the town’s historical roots and the way it was originally platted and laid out when it was first founded.

I can see what could be brought back to restore this house but, can you imagine the venomous snakes living in the walls and rafters of this house? The dark corners and basement are not inviting at all. Filled with spirits. Something feels off.
