Family History

From the 1920s to 1954, this was the home of Henry Cately Ettling, aka Harry, (1882-1954) and his wife Ethel Carpenter Ettling (1881-1954). The couple married in 1907 and had three children Henry III, Mary and Roger. Sadly, Roger died at the age of 20. Henry was vice-president of sale for an oil company for 20 years before becoming a salesman for heating supplies. Ethel was a direct descendent of Roger Williams, the founder of Rhode Island. Henry died suddenly in the home, after which Ethel sod the hold to move closer to her children in Huntington, West Virginia. She passed away just 10 months after her husband.
