Family History

  • This was the home of John Lorraine DeGroot (1879-1946) and his wife, May Hudson DeGroot (1869-1967) from the 1930s to 1946 when John passed away in the home. The couple married in 1907 and had two adult children, Kathleen and Edward, by the time they purchased this home. Colonel John DeGroot served in two wars, the Spanish-American and WWI. He was also a pioneer Indian territory attorney.
