Cheap House in West Virginia Under $50K

Well, hello again. We first featured this cheap house in West Virginia back in July 2020 when it was on the market for $56,000.

The home has an exterior appeal, with a beautiful church across the street and forested hills in view. I love the staircase and the mantels (which look earlier than c.1910), and the realtor says it is move-in ready, but for me, I see a lot of work to be done to restore it.

Family History

Well, I was correct about the house having an earlier build date than 1910. Per the 1880 US Census, this was the home of James and Mary Price. Peter Price, the bachelor brother of James, also lived in the home. All three were born in Ireland, and both brothers were miners.
