THE ULTIMATE LIST OF CHEAP OLD HOUSES UNDER $50K…and BEYOND ––>
Cheap-ish 1886 Historic Quincy IL Victorian Home For Sale $149K
December 3, 2022
OHU50K Notes $149,000
As part of our new “Cheap-ish” category, this a a reminder that OHU50K will always mainly focus on old houses in the $50Ks, but both rising real estate prices and real estate agents who put no effort in taking photos of the interiors of cheap houses have made it harder to find decent homes under our price constraints. Cheap-ish will feature a couple of affordable homes each day that are over the $100K mark. If you are not interested in Cheap-ish, simply skip over the posts.
If interested in a property, please contact the realtor whose link is provided below, or contact an agent of your own choosing. Independent verification of details and status is recommended.
Samuel Brown (1834-1911) married Jane E. (1846-1933) in 1861. The couple had one daughter, Mary, who was born in 1866. Samuel was a successful farmer who had this in-town home built for his family in 1886. Mary married a Mr. Travers, but was already a widow by 1900 and so continued to live in the home with her parents. After Samuel died in 1911, Jane E. and Mary relocated to San Diego, California.
