OHU50K Notes $149,900
The Historic Waldo-Darden Hotel c. 1840, A.K.A Hamilton House, is ready for its new owner. This landmark vernacular Greek Revival box style home features a double-tier portico with magnificent scrollwork pillars by an unknown artisan. It is one of two properties locally, that feature this artisan’s work. Now a private residence, this home was once a hotel and its basement is rumored by locals to have been a hospital during the Civil War as it is situated only a few miles from the Historic Fort Branch Civil War Site. Plus, it is only 90 minutes to Outer Banks beaches.

The basement. This is why homes of this age are still standing. Those beams are massive!!!!! Homes aren’t built like that anymore.
