Realtor Comments
Former Church For Sale! This home has been stripped and has new primed sheetrock. The cathedral ceiling, open floor plan and lots of closets make this ideal. Check out the 360 Tour at Two bedrooms and a bath have been framed out but the rest of the main floor is open and bright. There are some original details remaining: Leaded Windows, Solid Woods Doors and more! There is a neat unfinished loft area that could be an office or cool display area. The lower floor is finished but untouched by this renovation. The front steps are sandstone with new vinyl rails and there are sliding doors off the living room to add a back deck. The yard is petite but still has room for a garden or recreation. There is room for two parking spaces by the side door that enters into the foyer/mudroom.

History
According to the 1898 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map, the church was originally the Universalist Chapel.
In 1924, the Jewish Congregation Anshe Zophen purchased the unused church. In its heyday, many prominent Ogdensburg families made up the synagogue’s 100-member congregation. By 2010, however, the synagogue shut its doors due to declining membership. The building sat vacant, boarded up, for seven years, and was finally put up for sale in 2017 after continuous acts of vandalism.
