Family History
This was the home of Fred Hughes (1901-1966) and Hilda Ellen Nichols Hughes (1904-1966). After his first wife, Cora, died in 1935, Fred and Hilda married in 1938 and purchased this home. Fred worked as an assistant manager for a plumbing supply store. The couple had three children and 10 grandchildren who enjoyed this home for almost three decades before Fred and Hilda passed away in 1966 within one month of each other.
