My eyes are burning from so many pics of crummy paneling and dropped ceilings, so when I saw this old fixer upper I was not impressed. So many readers inquire about owner financing properties, however, that I gave in and decided to feature this home. With the increasing prices in Texas, maybe the cheap old house will pique someone’s interest.

Mind you, the home is on a dirt road which, in the 2013 Google Map street view, shows several ramshackle houses. I do like the home’s exterior dentil work and window trim, however.

If you can get past the unfortunate modifications, the interior has some nice molding, doors and hardware, hardwood floors, built-ins and clawfoot tub. I also would keep the kitchen cupboards.

I don’t believe the owner’s 1940 is correct, because, according to the US Census, it appears that Buster and Beulah Brown were renting the home for $10 a month in 1930. Buster was a laborer who did odd jobs.
