Lollipop House by Moon Hoon

Fun Friday – The Lollipop House by Moon Hoon

We need some entertainment after seeing tons of dropped ceilings and peeling laminate floors, so Old Houses Under Under $50k introduced Fun Friday. It is a collection of weird structures, NOT for sale, simply of interest.  Today we visit the Lollipop House by Moon Hoon.

The Lollipop House by Moon Hoon was built in 2012 in Giheung-Gi, South Korea. The Seoul-based architectural firm, designed this single family residence around a central stairway that branches to seven different living space levels.

The structure’s exterior has an armor of red and white metal panels that resembles a candy shop treat. Thus the name, Lollipop House. The young couple who commissioned the house wanted a design that was one of a kind, something, I expect, that would please their little girl.

The clients had a tight spending budget, but Moon Hoon eventually came up with this home that includes a study, living room, kitchen, dining area, master bedroom suite, children’s bedroom, attic playroom, storm cellar and an atrium.
