Historic c.1905 John L. Miers Mansion Demolished
Built in 1905, the John L. Miers mansion at 211 Midland Rd, Maryland Heights, Missouri, was recently demolished. Miers (1864-1929) was president of the United Railways streetcar company and manager of Creve Coeur Lake Amusement Park. He lived in the home with his wife Laura and young nice Ethel.

The home was designed by the architectural firm Barnett, Haynes and Barnett and took three years to build.

After the death of Miers of a stroke in 1929, the mansion later became the Normandy Athletic Club.

After sitting vacant for three decades, the mansion with 9.85 acres was put on the market and sold for $435,000 on 4/25/2025 to the Harmony Homes assisted living operation.
