History

In 1831 a request was issued to England by the Bible Christians, a Methodist denomination, to have a minister sent to Prince Edward Island. Rev. Francis Metherall arrived with his family in 1832, and began proselytizing all over the island.

The Bible Christian Church was eventually built in 1868, and in 1884 the Bible Christian Church merged with the Methodist Church of Canada.
