Before and After of An Abandoned House

OHU50K featured this fixer upper back in December 2020 when it was listed at $25,000. It had been abandoned for years.  I really thought it was a goner, but it was purchased for $8,500. The home really didn’t have much in the way of original interior elements left. The new owner, however, performed an enormous amount of work on the property, and gave it new life. It sold on June 23, 2023 for $196,000. What do you think of the Before and After?

It would go for a lot more than 229k where I live. What a beautiful job they did! I so love that they restored the flooring, instead of covering it with laminate.

229k would be a bargain where I live! They’ve definitely worked a miracle here! Just don’t like the vinyl plank flooring in that one area. Looks awful next to those beautiful original wood floors IMO. I think tile would have worked better, but alas, I’m not living with it!!

maybe 150. not 230. thats not a special kind of renovation, just basic. though i am glad that it was salvaged from the precipice…

Not my style at all…but nice that they saved the home. I bought a house that was ” remodeled” after years of abandonment…..I’ve spent more than I paid for the house in repairs.

While I’m grateful it was saved,I am so,so sick of the HGTV look, but for flippers it’s the way to go.So many people still want that look. For me, it’s been ruined and have to be very cheap so I can afford to put some character back in.
