Family History
The home was originally built for William Brownell and his wife Lucy. William owned a book store in town and resided in the home with Lucy and their children, nettie, Edwin and Philbert.
In the early 1900s, the home was handed over to Williams’ grandson, William A. Brownell, and his wife Mary. William, as was his father Edwin who also lived in the home, were barristers. The Brownells resided in the home with their children, Ralph, Edwin, Frances, and Mariam. Mary enjoyed entertaining in her wonderful home.
