History
Originally a one-story brick building known as the old Le Ray “Land Office” stood on the lot that our featured home now sits on. The building changed hands to an attorney and then a bakery owner until it was sold to Frank and Hattie Montondo sometime between 1915 and 1919. Mr. Montondo was a contractor and builder, and it appears that he remodeled the building. He then sold the home to Charles and Ella Ryther who are credited with adding a second story, new roof, new front facade on the first level, new verandah, and the gorgeous interior woodwork.
