History
While I could not find the family history of this beauty, I did discover that Faxton Street was named after Theodore S. Faxton, former Utica mayor during the Civil War era, businessman and philanthropist. He designed and paid for the construction of Faxton Hospital in the 1870s. He ran the first American steamboats on Lake Ontario, was president Utica & Black River Railroad, and paid for telegraph lines in many areas of New York State, among other things. Theodore and his wife Irene Miller Alverson Faxton had no heirs, so their estate went to local charities.

Oh my!!! This home needs quite a bit of love and restoration, but I can see how absolutely stunning this home can be. The woodwork looks fantastic! With a little bit of love, elbow grease and deep pockets, this home could be a show place!
