Family History
Located in a small town of 529 residents, this home was originally constructed in 1894 by James Daniel Wilkins (1852-1943) and Molly Miller Wilkins (1865-1904). Its design was inspired by a collection of architectural plans created by the noted architect George F. Barber. The construction was carried out by W.H. Gordon and his team.
The Wilkins married in 1885 and lived in the home with their four children, Cora, Greta and twins John and Lula, as well as Mollie’s mother Lucinda Miller. James Wilkins owned the town’s grocery store. In 2012, the building was the James Wilkins House bed & Breakfast Inn.
