Family History
Per NRHP. William Henry Scales (1840-1902) was a member of a prominent local family. After the Civil War, he lived in Mobile and was a merchant, cotton factor, and law partner in the firm Agnes, Scales and Company. Upon his retirement, he bought land north of Macon, Mississippi, and built, in 1892, this Queen Anne Victorian house complete with outbuildings (two of which are extant) and an orchard and ponds. He lived in this home with his wife Sarah Ann Scales (1844-1908). The couple had four children, William, Lucius, Annie and Mary, but by the time the house was built, most were adults and out of the house.

Realtor is unresponsive. Been trying to schedule a walk through. Doesn’t seem to be serious.
