This iconic property with its giant front porch columns sits just around the corner from Main Street in an excellent location.

Family History

Although the home was built in 1843, I could only find its family history from the 1910s when John Pepper Sr. (1861-1929), a grocery store manager, owned the home with his wife Harriet Raplee Pepper (1863-1955).  The home was then passed down to their son William E. Pepper (1891-1965), a manger of a bakery, who owned the home with his wife Clara Reynolds Pepper (1894-1976). They resided here with their children Elizabeth, Geraldine, Marjorie, John and James, as well as Harriet.  We know the Peppers lived in the home for at least seven decades until Clara’s death in 1976
