OHU50K NOTES

Save this old house. A reader asked if OHU50K would feature this home. We are happy to oblige, as it will take a very special someone to take on such a major project. It is evident that it was once a beautiful home, but time and neglect have taken its toll.
It actually sold in February for $53,000, but is back on the market for $80,000 (without any work done since February).  Most of the images are from the old listing as the new listing only has one image.
The neighborhood around the home is comprised of small bungalows likely built in the 1930s and 1940s. Our featured home looks out of place, so it occurs to me that perhaps the build date is earlier than 1912 and the home may have originally been set on more property. In any event, per the US Census, it appears that a young widow, Julia B. Ferguson, lived in this house with her daughters Caroline and Mildred, and Julia’s aunt, Maude Hardin, in 1940.
