Question please? I have seen many old houses that have like a ‘square’ light color in the middle of the wood floor. Some are slight shading and then some are like very different colors around the edges. Sometimes it looks like people had actually painted around the ‘rug that used to be there”? I was wondering, is it because there used to be a rug in the middle of the floor or something? If there had been a rug I would have thought it would be darker where the rug used to be, because UV rays tend to lighten wood over the years. What do you think is going on ? Thank you 🙂
THANK YOU for this website !!!!!! 🙂

Sometimes a lesser grade wood was installed in the middle of the room where a rug would cover it.
