Grand Traditional affordable home that deserves a second chance! Bring your tool belt and imagination and make this your HGTV home. Large Kitchen with breakfast room area adjoining. Second Kitchen at rear of home with separate bedroom/den and bath could serve as Mother in Law Suite. Screened porch overlooks large back yard and WAIT there is a Huge concrete floored garage with separate meter. Garage doors are down but inside the garage. Lovely old scones are begging for a mirror and buffet between them. Next door to the City Park and within walking distance of the Charming downtown district of Barnwell. Call to day to view this home and start your restoration project. Roof appears to be original metal tin shingles.

I love this page and actually live in Patchogue, NY, 5 towns over from Oakdale. Dowling college has closed and Idle Hour just isn’t the same anymore. We are ready to leave Long Island and really loving this page for ideas. Thank you.

I lived in Patchogue, too, for a short time after my parents sold the Oakdale house. In fact, when I first got married my husband and I put a down payment on a house on Roe Ave. near the bay. It was $26,000 with a 5-year balloon mortgage. My mother-in-law had a fit about the balloon mortgage, so we pulled out and lost the deposit. She talked us into the biggest real estate mistake ever! And yes, I hear old friends say the same thing about Idle Hour without Dowling.
