Family History
Burns
This was the home of James Gibbons Burns (1879-1948) and Mary Gillooly Burns (1882-1932). The couple married in 1906 and raised children, Esther, James, Thomas, Julia, Mary, and Alex, in this home. Mr. Burns owned his own roofing and repair company starting in 1922. Mrs. Burns died at the young age of 49. Esther was already married, but the remaining children still lived at home at this time. Sadly, son James was charged a few years later with auto larceny and stripping.
Carr
After the death of Mr. Burns, William Carr, a fireman, purchased the home.
