The cute circa 1897 home sits on a sharply inclined street of small older homes. The interior of the three bedroom, one bath home has updates, gas heat and public water and sewer. I included an old 2012 photo when the house had redwood shakes. Which do you prefer, new or old?

 

I could not find any history of this home, but I did find a humorous c.1922 newspaper blurb about a neighbor.  I got a kick about of the 1920’s slang. Apparently, some skunk (a thief), stole Harry Cain’s flivver (a cheap car in bad condition). Harry  was arrested when he reported the theft at the police station with a big concealed gun in his pocket.
