Under $75K Thursday – Ohio Extreme Fixer Upper Queen Anne Victorian For Sale $75K
OHU50K Notes $75,000
Here is a Queen Anne Victorian for sale in the Old Dayton neighborhood. Disregard the agent’s 1919 build date. The home was mentioned in a 1901 newspapers article, the 1900 US Census and was originally owned by a prominent and wealthy family in the community, as you can tell by the quality elements still intact in the house. The extreme fixer upper has been gutted. Work was started, but the house (located on a tree-lined street of wonderful older homes) and the gorgeous carriage house behind it need a savior.

Family History
This is the Reeder House. Allen Harrison Reeder (1861-1917) married Winifred Barnes (1867-1923) in 1890 and soon after had this house built for their family. Allen made a good living as president of his own leaf tobacco company, and Winifred was active in various clubs and organizations and was much interested in welfare work. The couple lived in the home with their two young daughters, Helen and Olive, as well as two live-in servants, before moving to a bigger and better home

Whoever gutted this historical house should never be allowed to own a house again. Blasphemy.
