We can all use a bit of inspiration sometimes. Here are a few before and after old house transformations that may, or some may not, inspire you.
1. The Little House That Could
The before photo of this sweet little house reminded me of the house in the children’s book The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton. Quite a transformation. What do you think?
2. 1980s Kitchen Redo
The cabinets remind me of when my parents remodeled the kitchen in their c.190o Victorian in Islip, New York. They had a polished brick floor, though. While I still prefer an original kitchen, the white kitchen below fits an old house better than the 1980s look.
3. Southern Fixer Upper Turned Fabulous Foursquare
Love a foursquare. We raised our seven kids in a foursquare, and the floor plan is wonderful for a large family.
If you are fixing up an old house, we would love to see your before and after pictures. Join our Facebook group and send them to Old Houses Under $50,000.
4. Acorn Hall
The Smiths received a $250,000 grant to help restore the old William Squibb estate. Squibb was owner of the of the Squibb distillery in Greendale, Indiana. See the full story here.
