That Fireplace is the most beautiful design I think I’ve ever seen. I’m not real familiar with Greek Revivals so forgive me if this is a silly question…is the left hand side original or is it a later add on? It just seems too Asymmetrical to the roofline and visually minimizes that Parthenon Grandeur indicative of Greek Revivals. I seriously cannot believe that Fireplace though.🤩
Can you explain what the thought behind these folks buying a house, stripping it down and then putting it up for sale again? I see so many houses like this, and we can only guess what the interior was before.

The one story wing might be original, but that roofline definitely isn’t. Yes, the fireplace is wonderful!

Any number of reasons: owner got sick, lost job, project became too much for them, ran out of money…..
