Holy cow, that is stunning. I don’t see a down side, if the buyer is retired or working remotely and has handyman skills and some reno money. Absolutely beautiful house in a beautiful setting. So worthy of preservation and TLC. I grew up in Alabama. People are clannish, so it may be a bit hard to forge deep friendships; however, people are also hospitable and pleasant to everyone no matter the circumstances. Be diplomatic regarding religion and politics, and you will be fine.
