OHU50K NOTES
This c.1880 fixer upper is located in a quintessential upstate New York small village. Laurens, New York, may only have a population of 263 residents, but it is filled with some historic architecture. The Village Laurens, in fact, is the oldest community in the township, incorporated 1811.
Back in 1860, the village had a population of 726 citizens and contained a sawmill, tannery, an iron foundry, and a cotton mill that was powered by water from Gilbert Lake, just north of the town line. A sulfur spring is also located north of the village. I have included an old photo of the village below.
Our home today sits opposite the impressive Laurens Central School. Behind the house is a beautiful view of the countryside and the forested hills beyond. Although the exterior of the house has seen many unfortunate alterations, the interior still retains its gorgeous staircase, built-ins and hardwood floors.

REALTOR COMMENTS
Spacious village fixer upper home with pretty original details. It’s in need of some cosmetics but great spaces and flow. Double living room, nice side porch, big shed type mudroom off the kitchen. Walk to everything, great central location. Sold as is.”
