Looks like a lot of water damage. Also, a remodel in the 90s? I say that because of the anachronistic trey ceiling — I think that’s what this recess is called, a trey …tray (?) ceiling. Beautiful house. I always know when a featured house is from St. Louis or Detroit. They’re so distinctive for their area. I have a fantasy in which millenials and Gen Z folks buy and renovate these beautiful old houses in a demographic sweeping trend — because I hear so many times that housing is outside their financial abilities. This would be one avenue. History books could call the period The Great Renovation or The Restoration.
