Family History
From the late 1940s until he died in the home in 1978 at the age of 78, this was the home of Franklin Steed. He resided here with his wife Thelma. The couple had no children. Frank, as he was known, worked as a foreman in the maintenance department of Leader Iron Works and was a member of Ionic Mason Lodge 132. Thelma continued to live in the home until her death in 1980. A public death and claim notice was published for the estate in 1981. It is sad that the couple worked hard to purchase and maintain their lovely home for more than 30 years, and the fruit of their labors had no heirs.
