Family History

After their honeymoon in Florida in August of 1950, Leonard Irvin Morgan (1890-1977) and Stella Myrick Patterson Morgan (1907-1962), moved into this home. Leonard was Vice President of the Central Alabama Dry Goods Company for more than 50 years.  In fact, he was a long-time resident of Selma whose family settled in the Valley Creek area in the early 1800s.

This was the second marriage for Stella. She was previously married to a minister who was 45 years her senior. Leonard was 17 years her senior.
