1920 Hutchins St, Portsmouth, OH 45662 $52,900.

Town History
Portsmouth developed an industrial base stimulated by completion of the Ohio and Erie Canal in the early 1800s.
But the construction of the railroads in the 1830s put a slow down on growth. But not for long. Portsmouth became one of the most important industrial cities known for iron and steel manufacturing on the Ohio River.
By 1916, during World War I, Portsmouth was the fourth-largest shoe manufacturing center in the country, and the largest manufacturer of fire and paving bricks in the United States, and the city saw its peak population in 1930 with 42,000 residents.
Beginning in the 1950s, Portsmouth began a decline, culminating in 1995 when the steel mill closed.
The Portsmouth community, however, has worked hard to redevelop blighted properties and create a new economy, adapting vacant homes, and trying to adapt other uses for abandoned industrial and commercial properties,
