Fun Friday – Brighton Upside Down House

We need some entertainment after seeing tons of dropped ceilings and peeling laminate floors, so Old Houses Under Under $50k introduced Fun Friday a while back. It is a collection of weird structures, usually NOT for sale, simply of interest.  Today we feature the Brighton Upside Down House.

In the seaside resort town of Brighton, UK, along the English Channel, is an upside down house.upside down house

Living at the Jersey Shore, our idea of an upside down house is simply a house with bedrooms on the main level and kitchen and living room on the top level. My daughter’s in-laws have a vacation house similar to the one below. This is the Jersey Shore’s version of an upside down house.

This attraction near the Brighton Palace Pier, however, takes the term upside down house to a whole new level.

From the exterior, the structure looks like a scene from the Wizard of Oz after the tornado hit.

Interior wise, the upside down house has all the elements of a traditional house, only everything is opposite. The floor is up and the ceiling is down.
