Family History

This was the home of Alanson Lloyd Parsons (1855-1925) and his wife, May Louise White Parsons (1857-1926) with whom he married in 1884. The couple lived here with their three children, Amy, George and Charles. Alanson supported his family well as an attorney. Good thing , too, because Amy was prone to losing things. As well as a diamond-shaped sorority pin, she managed to lose a plaid belt with green buttons, both reported in the local newspaper.  She graduated Keokuk High School with a major in Domestic Science and was on the debate club. Her motto was “Neither a borrower or a lender be.” Apropos for someone who often loses thing.
