Here is a converted church for sale by owner in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
Built in 1903, the red brick structure began life as the First Reformed Church. The congregation was actually organized in October of 1882 by the Reverend H.D. Darbaker, and services were first held in the United Presbyterian Church on Sixth Avenue with only 12 members.
In 1903, the congregation purchased lots and built their church at the corner of Library and Union Avenues. Reverend C.F. Althouse served as pastor at that time until 1909.
As do 6,000 to 10,000 American churches each year, the First Reformed Church eventually closed its doors. The beautiful stained glass windows were boarded up and vines began to take over the brick. It took the new owner, Glen Jackson, 21 months of hard work to restore the building and convert it into a residential loft residence.
