Natural woodwork are the key words for this circa 1920s cottage. Except for the kitchen and bath, the woodwork has been kept in all its glorious, unpainted, original condition! The hardwood floors, built-ins, six-panel doors, trim and green-tiled fireplace mantel are simply beautiful, especially for a house at this price point.

Family History

This was the home of Virgil J. Spencer and his wife Marie. The couple married in 1921, and according to records moved into the home soon after. Virgil was a building contractor, so perhaps he even worked on the construction of this home himself. Back in 1930 the house was valued at $6,500. Unfortunately, Virgil was not able to enjoy his lovely home into old age as he passed away in 1949 at the age of 49.
