History
Goodman Family
The home was commissioned by Richard H. Goodman, the chief cashier at the Bank of Louisiana. He commissioned the architectural firm of Franklin, Wheeler, and Branson of St. Louis to design it with a limestone foundation with dark-red bricks that were trucked to Missouri from Quincy, Illinois. The Goodman’s did not live here long, however, for in 1899 Goodman and his wife divorced and sold the home to Clarence McDowell Stark.
Stark Family
Clarence Stark was the co-founder and first president of the Stark Brothers Nurseries and Orchards Co. He is well-known for starting catalog sales and for discovering the Red Delicious apple. and advertising campaign. Clarence Stark lived in this home with his wife Lily, daughter Willella, and two sons Paul and Lloyd. In the 1920s, a building was constructed to house the family’s cook, and a large brick garage was also added. The interior was remodeled in 1935 and added to the National Register of Historic places in 1994. The Stark family lived here for more than seven decades. Now the home is in foreclosure.

I may be interested. Don’t like painted wood work. But can be changed.
