c.1920 Fixer Upper in Rolla, MO Under $40K

OHU50K NOTES
When this house was built, most of the residents in this neighborhood worked for the egg house or sawmill. The interior elements seem to suggest a person with a middle management may have originally owned the home, but I could not track it down.
Two stories account for the naming of the town to Rolla. The story that tickles my fancy, although regarded as a folk legend by the Phelps County Historical Society, arises from the competition of two nearby communities to be designated the county seat. When what is now Rolla was made the county seat in 1861, the residents of the other losing town were allowed to choose the name of the county seat and named it Rolla, after a good-for-nothing hunting dog.
