This was the home of George H. Hill (1868-1950), Bluefield city civil engineer, chief state road engineer, treasurer on Bluefield city council and an organizer of the city’s chamber of commerce. He lived here with his wife, Louise Hawes Hill, children George Jr., Charles and Louis, as well as his in-laws H.H. Hawes and Harriet Hawes. At least two people have died in the residence, including George Sr. and Harriet Hawes.
Sometime after the 1950s, the home was divided into four apartments. Now it must be brought back to a single family.
