Roof is new on this c.1880 Victorian handyman special. I am happy they kept the imbricated shingles and arched window in the gable when they resided. Highlights are the herringbone patterned brick sidewalks, hardwood floors, lovely block molding, clawfoot tub and spacious kitchen.
Family History
This was the home of Carl F. Urban (1898-1976) in the 1940s to the 1960s. Carl, a 5’11” man with light brown hair and blue eyes, was a veteran of WWI. After he settled in this house with his wife Sarah Cunningham Urban and children Betty and Frank, he became a deputy county collector and an agent for the Federal Crop Insurance Agency. He was also a 56-year member and exalted ruler at the Sedalia Elks Club. After Sarah died in 1953, Carl remarried in 1962, and moved from the home.
